The Communications Division supports the FSVO’s strategic goals by reporting openly on all the Federal Office’s activities. It promotes dialogue with the public, media and specialist groups, and provides information on projects undertaken by the FSVO to internal and external audiences where relevant. It also provides advice to FSVO specialists on their information and communication needs, and plans, supports and implements communication activities.
It is divided into three sectors:
The main activities of the Media and Information sector are liaison with media representatives, active communication on FSVO-related issues and media monitoring. It is also responsible for the public visibility of the FSVO’s research activities, preparing information for employees and promoting discussion and exchanges within the Federal Office.
The Digital Communication sector is responsible for the FSVO’s website and social media communications. Its primary task is to produce a comprehensible, up-to-date and appealing website for the FSVO and to create content for various target groups via various channels.
In addition, the sector produces videos, graphics and images to illustrate and explain relevant and complex issues to the general public.

The Customer Communication sector is the public’s point of contact for all FSVO-related matters, from importing pets to questions about the reporting requirement for foods. The team is reachable by phone, e-mail and social media during office hours.
