The FSVO is organised into specialist divisions. Together with the Director, the heads of these divisions make up the Executive Board.
The head office of the FSVO is in Bern. In Tänikon and Zollikofen it also has centres for research into the proper housing of various animals. The FSVO employs around 250 people.
