Brexit

It is currently unclear what status the United Kingdom will have after leaving the European Union on 29 March 2019. In the event of an exit without agreement, the import conditions for third countries will apply from 30 March 2019.

Pet owners wishing to enter Switzerland from the United Kingdom with their animals are advised to consult the following link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pet-travel-to-europe-after-brexit.
If you have any questions, please contact the UK authorities directly.

Pet owners living in Switzerland who wish to holiday in the United Kingdom with their pets after Brexit are advised to prepare for an exit without agreement. Before leaving Switzerland, please make sure that all conditions for re-entry from an unlisted third country can be met. Relevant information can be found in our Online tool by selecting Albania as your travel destination instead of the United Kingdom.

For any questions about entering the United Kingdom, please contact the UK authorities. For re-entry via the EU, please contact the relevant EU border inspection post for information about the requirements. The FSVO has no influence over any checks or decisions made by authorities outside Switzerland.

Valid pet passports of other countries

The national pet passports of the following countries are recognized by the EU: Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and the Vatican. For importing dogs, cats and ferrets from these countries, the same regulations apply as if they came from an EU Member State.
