Coeliac disease and nutrition in Switzerland (2010)

Coeliac disease is an immunologically caused chronic inflammatory disease of the small intestine with a genetic disposition. The genetic factors are decisive. Coeliac disease runs in families and the concordance in identical twins is 85%. Coeliac disease is triggered by the gluten protein that is comprised in the cereals wheat, rye and barley.

Publications

In January 2014 the Federal Veterinary Office (FVO) and the Division of the Food security of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) formed the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO). Consequently, the reports were published in the name of the FOPH, but are no longer under its responsibility.
