Self-monitoring in the classification of novel foods

Are you planning to market a product and wondering whether it is a novel food? The correct classification of novel foods is an important part of your self-monitoring, regardless of whether they are novel foods or traditional novel foods. To support you in this process, we invite you to attend a training on this matter.

Aim of the event

We will show you in a practical way how you can carry out the clarification "novel or not novel" in a legally compliant manner, which new tools the FSVO provides you with and what the start of a successful authorisation looks like.

Training content

In 2 hours, we will guide you through the following key topics:

1. Classification: What specific questions do companies need to adress when classifying novel foods as part of their self-monitoring?

2. FSVO toolbox: Getting to know and correctly using the new web tools for classification.

3. From suspicion to authorization dossier: When a food is classified as "novel" – what specific steps are necessary for an authorization request?
