CITES and non-protected wild animals

CITES is the convention on international trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora, and aims to ensure their sustainable use. The Swiss CITES legislation regulates trade in protected species and non-protected wild animals.

What is CITES?

CITES regulates international trade in endangered animal and plant species. In Switzerland, the FSVO is responsible for implementing and enforcing CITES.
