Transit of foods originating in the EU
The transit through Switzerland of foods from the EU is not subject to veterinary border controls. Foods of animal origin include dairy products, eggs and meat.
Requirements and rules for transit
Transit through Switzerland originating in the EU is defined as a consignment that originates in and is destined for a member state of the EU. Border control posts in the EU do not count as the point of origin.
Unless specified otherwise, there are no specific veterinary conditions or requirements. The same requirements apply as for the import and export of the relevant goods category between EU member states and Switzerland. In any official documents, the actual place of origin and place of destination must be correctly indicated.
