The third network meeting under the lead of Switzerland took place in Lisbon on April 20-21. Many thanks to Portugal!
Representatives from 16 countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Switzerland and Sweden), the WHO, the European Commission, the WHO collaborating centres RIVM, University of Warwick and George Institute for Global Health and invited speakers attended the meeting.
After updates from WHO and several countries, two speakers presented on how to develop sustainable salt reduction strategies. Session 2 gave on overview of how to measure and monitor salt intake. On day 2, session 3 was dedicated to scientific updates and session 4 addressed reformulation from the point of view of technological feasibility and consumer acceptability.
